EYFS Play Towers
At Everyday Play, we design, manufacture, and install all of our school playground equipment in-house. We have extensive experience working with schools, nurseries, and pre-schools that need smaller, lower-level equipment specifically for their EYFS areas. If you see something on our website that you like but would like it adapted for younger children, please get in touch – we’d be happy to discuss creating a version that’s perfectly suited to EYFS age groups.
What surfacing is recommended for under play Towers?
The ideal surfacing depends largely on the height of your tower and the usage of the area. At Everyday Play, we recommend a range of solutions tailored to your specific equipment:
Our Top Recommendation would be Wetpour Safety Surfacing
We proudly specialise in Wetpour, a seamless, high-performance rubber surface that is widely considered the gold standard for school and public playgrounds.
Safety First: It is an impact-absorbing surface engineered to reduce the risk of injury. It fully meets all Critical Fall Height (CFH) requirements, providing essential peace of mind.
Bespoke Design: Unlike loose-fill materials, Wetpour allows for total creativity. Our installers at Everyday Play can incorporate vibrant colours, educational markings, themed layouts, and custom branding into your design.
Durability: It is weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and built to withstand heavy foot traffic for years.
Understanding Fall Heights & Thickness
The most critical factor is the thickness of the surface. The higher the play tower, the thicker the safety layer must be to remain compliant with safety regulations.
Don’t worry about the technicalities: Our team handles all the calculations for you. We assess the height of your specific tower to ensure the surfacing depth is 100% compliant with UK safety standards.
Other Safety Surfacing Options
Depending on your budget, environment, and the “look” you want to achieve, we also offer:
Rubber Mulch: A textured, bark-like appearance made from recycled rubber; great for a natural look without the mess of real wood.
Artificial Grass (with Shockpads): Combines the soft look of a lawn with a hidden impact-absorbing layer underneath.
Rubber Matting: Often used in grassy areas, these mats allow the natural grass to grow through while providing a safety cushion.
Play Grade Bark: A traditional, budget-friendly natural option, though it requires more frequent topping up and maintenance.
