A little about this project
We were thrilled to be asked to design and create a bespoke Spitfire-themed piece of wooden playground equipment — a truly exciting project!
The custom design included a 1.2m high platform, providing the perfect launch point for adventure. We incorporated an access tunnel net, a wing crawl net, a rock climbing wall, and a log climbing wall to encourage active, imaginative play. To complete the experience, we added a slide for speedy exits and fun bubble windows for children to peek through and spark their imaginations.
The final result is a fantastic, themed play structure that offers endless opportunities for climbing, crawling, sliding, and creative role play, all while celebrating the iconic Spitfire in a fun and engaging way.

We had ideas of what the play area would look like but Everyday Play went beyond our expectations. They shared a detailed visual drawing of the fully bespoke area with us and after a couple of alterations, it was agreed and the design came to life.

At Sussex Road School we strive to develop bespoke outdoor environments on a fairly small site.
