Ten years of ideas, imagination, hard work and a whole lot of play.
In 2016, we started out in a garden office with a small team, big ambitions and a belief that play spaces could be so much more than a collection of equipment.
Today, Everyday Play is a growing team of designers, craftsmen, installers and playground specialists, creating imaginative and bespoke play spaces for schools, parks, attractions, hospitality venues and communities across the UK!
We’ve grown. We’ve moved. We’ve changed our name. We’ve brought design and manufacturing in-house. We’ve taken on bigger and more ambitious projects.
But one thing has stayed the same…
We’re passionate about building brighter futures through play.

So, as we celebrate 10 years, we’re looking back at the people, projects, milestones and moments that have made the journey what it is.
2016
Every story has a starting point.
Ours began in 2016, working from a garden office and building the foundations of what would become Everyday Play.
Originally known as L & L, the business was built around a simple idea: create great play spaces, do things properly and make sure the people we work with are genuinely happy with the result.
Jimmy, Matty and Kane have been with us from the beginning, and have been part of almost every chapter since.

2018
Bringing creativity in-house
In 2018, we took another big step forward and established our in-house design team.
This changed the way we could work.
Instead of simply supplying equipment, we could take an idea from the first sketch, develop the concept ourselves and work alongside our manufacturing and installation teams to bring it to life.
It opened the door to more creativity, more bespoke projects and some pretty ambitious ideas.

2023
Manufacturing in-house
By 2023, we were ready for another major milestone.
We acquired our own workshop in Bedford, allowing us to bring manufacturing in-house.
Having our designers and craftsmen working closely together gave us even greater control over the process, from the initial idea right through to the finished piece.
It also meant we could take on projects that simply wouldn’t have been possible before.
From life-size safari jeeps to enormous bespoke climbing structures, the workshop became the place where ideas became real.

2024
New name. Same People.
January 2024 marked another important moment in our story.
L & L became Everyday Play.
The new name reflected the business we had grown into and the future we were building towards.
But behind the new name were the same people, the same experience and the same passion for creating brilliant play spaces.
Our new identity also captured something that has always been at the heart of what we do:
Building Brighter Futures
Because great play isn’t just about what happens today.
It’s about giving children somewhere to explore, challenge themselves, make friends, use their imagination and create memories that stay with them.

May 2024
A place to grow
Just a few months later, we moved into our new offices in Biddenden.
After years of growing the team and expanding what we could offer, we finally had a space that could grow with us.
The new offices brought more of the team together and gave us room for the next chapter.
From a garden office to a growing base in Biddenden.
Not a bad ten-year transformation.

Making a difference beyond the playground
Our work isn’t only about the projects we build.
We’re proud to be part of the communities around us, and over the years we’ve looked for ways to give something back.
We’ve sponsored a local football team, helping support young players and grassroots sport in our community.
We’ve also donated playground equipment to schools, helping create better spaces for children to play, explore and learn.
Because we believe that every child deserves access to opportunities to play, whatever their circumstances.
It’s a small part of what we do, but it’s something we’re proud of.
Building Brighter Futures isn’t just a strapline.
It’s something we want to live by.

The projects we'll always remember
Ten years means hundreds of projects.
Every one has its own story, but there are some that have really stood out to us.

Wingham Wildlife Park
We’re proud to have an ongoing relationship with the owners at Wingham that has seen us return time and time again to meet their briefs for new and exciting play equipment for their visitors to enjoy.
We’ve built and installed an extensive system of towers, tunnels and slides that make up the huge exploration play zone, a massive castle themed climbing structure, a mini golf course and some individual bespoke play pieces such as the boat, jeep and the latest creation of the TukTuk, created to fit the theme of the park.

The Spitfire
From the first drawing to the finished climbing frame
The Spitfire project is particularly special for Luke.
He was involved from the initial drawings, watching the concept develop through the design process and eventually become a finished climbing structure.
It’s a great illustration of the journey we’ve created over the years.
Idea → design → manufacture → installation → children playing.
And being able to see that journey through from beginning to end is one of the best parts of the job.

Kings Hill Primary School
In 2023, we had the opportunity to work on a fantastic playground project at Kings Hill Primary School.
It was amazing to be involved in creating a new local playground and to see the project come together from the initial ideas through to installation.
Knowing that the children at the school would be using the space every day made it a particularly rewarding project for the team.
A place to run, climb, explore, make friends, challenge themselves and, most importantly, have fun.
It’s projects like this that really bring our “Building Brighter Futures” ethos to life.

Best Stand Award
The Education People Show
We don’t just like making brilliant play spaces. Apparently, we’re pretty good at building stands too.
In 2024, we headed to The Education People Show with our stand, and came away with the Best Stand Award.
After years of designing, building and installing play spaces, it was a pretty nice feeling to have our creativity recognised in a completely different setting.
The stand was a chance to show people what Everyday Play is all about: imagination, design, craftsmanship and a bit of fun.
And, naturally, we were very pleased with ourselves.

2026
Lewis becomes a TikTok superstar
We genuinely didn’t think Lewis’s confidence and self-love could grow any more.
And then came 2026.
TikTok Lewis happened.
From playground specialist to social media superstar, Lewis has embraced the camera with the sort of confidence that frankly none of us saw coming.
At this point, we’re starting to wonder whether we’ve been holding him back all these years.
Lewis, as good as you are with the tools, perhaps it’s time to put them down. We think you’ve finally found your true calling.
It’s been fantastic to see the Everyday Play following grow, with Lewis being recognised and mentioned everywhere we go. All jokes aside, fantastic stuff, Lew, and well done for getting in front of that camera and showing everyone the work that goes on behind the scenes.
Keep an eye on Lewis and the teams videos by following our social media channels below.

Our Brilliant Clients
Thank you!
Over the past ten years, we’ve been lucky enough to work with some brilliant clients.
We’ve been trusted with big ideas, strange ideas, ambitious ideas and occasionally ideas that start with:
“We don’t know if this is possible, but…”
Those are often our favourite ones.
We’ve learnt, grown, moved premises, changed our name, built our own workshop, expanded the team and taken on projects that we could only have dreamed about when we started in that garden prefab.

Thank you for your kind words!
