A little about this project

We were recently approached by Loose Parish Council to carry out essential safety surfacing repairs in the village park.

Over time, areas of the rubber wetpour around key equipment – including a spinning bowl and arm spinner – had started to wear away, with some edges lifting and breaking apart. These damaged sections created trip hazards and could lead to accidents, especially for younger children running between equipment.

To resolve these issues and improve overall safety and appearance, we completed the following works:

  • Repaired damaged wetpour surfacing around the spinning bowl and arm spinner to restore a smooth, impact-absorbing finish.

  • Resolved trip hazards by cutting back and re-laying neat, secure wetpour edges.

  • Installed new black wetpour around the perimeter for a refreshed, uniform surface.

  • Laid green fleck rubber mulch around the outer edge, blending into the park’s natural surroundings while adding extra protection and durability.

Maintaining safe, level surfacing in play areas is essential to prevent trips, falls, and long-term wear. Over time, even small gaps or broken edges can become serious hazards. By tackling these issues early, Loose Parish Council have helped to ensure the park remains a safe, welcoming space for families and children.
